Daily Prayer in the Easter Season

In joy and hope let us pray to the Father.

That our risen Saviour may fill us with the joy of his

glorious and life-giving resurrection …

we pray to the Father.

Hear our prayer.

That isolated and persecuted churches

may find fresh strength in the good news of Easter …

we pray to the Father.

Hear our prayer.

That God may grant us humility

to be subject to one another in Christian love …

we pray to the Father.

Hear our prayer.

That he may provide for those who lack food, work or shelter …

we pray to the Father.

Hear our prayer.

That by his power war and famine may cease through all the world …

we pray to the Father.

Hear our prayer.

That he may reveal the light of his presence to the sick,

the weak and the dying,

to heal, comfort and strengthen them …

we pray to the Father.

Hear our prayer.

That, according to his promises,

all who have died in the faith of the resurrection

may be raised on the last day …

we pray to the Father.

Hear our prayer.

That he may send the fire of the Holy Spirit upon his people,

so that we may bear faithful witness to his resurrection,

we pray to the Father.

Hear our prayer.

Heavenly Father,

you have delivered us from the power of darkness

and brought us into the kingdom of your Son:

grant that, as his death has recalled us to life,

so his continual presence in us may raise us to eternal joy;

through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Letter from the Interim Minister

Dear Friends

Huge thanks to all those who came along on Thursday to help clean and set up the church. Also huge thanks to Thelma who has done an amazing job this week cleaning up. The work in the sanctuary will be completed next week as the contractors put the final coat of paint on the walls.  This means that Choral Evensong will take place within the main body of the church on Sunday evening.

Wednesday Worship and Call in 4 Coffee

Wednesday worship will resume next Wednesday 28th April and we will also resume Call in 4 Coffee on that date.

Annual Meeting

Please note the Annual Parish Meeting (APM) and Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) will take place after our morning service on Sunday 30th May 2021 which will be morning praise with baptism.  Regarding the APCM (which follows the Annual Parish Meeting where we elect our church wardens for the year ahead), please note only those who are on the Electoral Roll of the Church can attend this second meeting. If you would like to attend the APCM and are not on the electoral roll please speak to Elaine Litherland as a matter of urgency.

I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday at our All Age Service and Choral Evensong.

God’s blessings, Alessandra

Thy Kingdom Come

From Ascension Day (13th May) to Pentecost (23rd May) we will be praying daily for people we know, or people who God lays on our hearts, to come to faith as part of the ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ global prayer movement.  This may seem like a very small thing yet over the last few years through this prayer initiative tens of thousands of people have come to faith.  Never underestimate the power of prayer!  Do start considering who the five people you wish to pray for maybe and I will be making sure that resources are available to help us in this journey of prayer and hope.

A Memorial Service for Mildred Cooper

will take place on Thursday 6 May at 11:00am in church

St Peter’s Mothers’ Union Members

The next MU meeting will be on Tuesday 4 May 2:00pm in the Parish Hall.

This will be our Annual General Meeting and we hope all members will try to attend as we need to discuss the future of MU at St Peter’s especially with regard to finding a new Branch Leader
