Prayers for Daily Life – Trinity
In the power of the Spirit and in union with Christ,
let us pray to the Father.
O God, the creator and preserver of all,
we pray for people in every kind of need;
make your ways known on earth,
your saving health among all nations …
We pray for the Church;
guide and govern us by your good Spirit,
that all who profess and call themselves Christians
may be led into the way of truth,
and hold the faith in unity of spirit,
in the bond of peace and in righteousness of life …
We commend to your fatherly goodness
all those who are any ways afflicted or distressed,
in mind, body or spirit;
comfort and relieve them in their need,
give them patience in their sufferings,
and bring good out of all their afflictions …
We remember those who have gone before us
in the peace of Christ,
and we give you praise for all your faithful ones,
with whom we rejoice in the communion of saints …
All this we ask for Jesus Christ’s sake.
All Amen.
We have a credit/debit card machine in church if you wish to make donations using this method

Letter from the Team Rector
Dear Friends
Please note the following for the ‘Autumn Term’ here at St Peter’s.
Bible Study: The first meeting of the evening group will take place on Tuesday 7thSeptember, at the Rectory looking at Mark’s Gospel over 7 weekly sessions. If there is support for a group meeting in the day we will agree a date for the first meeting within the next week.
PCC Awayday: We will be holding a PCC away day, (10am – 4pm), sometime in Oct/Nov. This will be a day of prayer as well as discussion on the way forward for us as a parish. I am hoping we can hold it at the newly opened Thie de Vie retreat house. Although primarily for the PCC members, this day will also be open to any congregation members who would like to join us as we prayerfully consider the way ahead. If you would like to be part of this day please give your name to Elaine Litherland.
Baptisms & Weddings: Please do continue to hold our baptism families and wedding couples in your prayers, many of whom, as a result of Covid, have had, and continue to have, their original plans disrupted.
Pastoral Team: Please do pray for our new pastoral team as they complete their training over the next couple of months and pick up the reins of their new ministry. If you are aware of anyone who requires pastoral support and would benefit from a visit from the team please do let me know.
Social Events: There will be a film night on Friday 17th September
Sermon Series: As well as being the focus of the Bible Study groups, in the weeks leading up to Advent I will be preaching on Mark’s Gospel. It’s a short easy read so I would encourage you take some time to read it to familiarise yourselves with it as part of your daily devotions.
God’s blessings, Alessandra
A reminder that Choral Evensong takes place on the 4th Sunday of each month. The next date is 26th September at 6:30pm. All Welcome
The church is open to visitors daily
between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm
Many thanks to Wendy and her musical colleagues and the Social Events team for running such a successful Afternoon Tea with musical entertainment last Tuesday.
