21 February 2021- Lent 1
Heavenly Father, your Son battled with the powers of darkness, and grew closer to you in the desert: help us to use these days to grow in wisdom and prayer that we may witness to your saving love in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

In the power of the Spirit and in union with Christ,
let us pray to the Father.
O God, the creator and preserver of all,
we pray for people in every kind of need;
make your ways known on earth,
your saving health among all nations …
We pray
for the IOM government …
for the leaders of the nations …
for all who hold public office …
that they may be filled with the integrity, justice, mercy and humility of Jesus Christ
for the Covid19 Vaccination programmes worldwide to reach quickly those really in need…
We pray for the Church;
guide and govern us by your good Spirit,
that all who profess and call themselves Christians
may be led into the way of truth,
and hold the faith in unity of spirit,
in the bond of peace and in righteousness of life …
We pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters especially for those living in Korea and India
We commend to your fatherly goodness
all those who are any ways afflicted or distressed,
in mind, body or spirit;
comfort and relieve them in their need
pour out your healing Spirit upon them,
give them patience in their sufferings,
and bring good out of all their afflictions …
We pray
for the hungry …
for the homeless …
for refugees and the victims of war …
We pray
for all suffering the effects of Covid19 and those who care for them…
for those whose diagnosis and treatment have been adversely affected by the epidemic…
for those struggling with increased loss of mobility and independence…
for those experiencing mental health issues, loneliness and isolation…
We remember those who have gone before us
in the peace of Christ,
and we give you praise for all your faithful ones,
with whom we rejoice in the communion of saints …
We pray
for those who are terminally ill and drawing near to the end of their earthly life…
for all who have lost loved ones and especially those unable to be with them in their final hours
All this we ask for Jesus Christ’s sake.
All Amen.
Letter from the Interim Minister
Dear Friends
As we enter into this season of Lent please pray for those affected by the new cases of Covid 19 on the island and beyond. Please also continue to pray for the Government as they deal with the new outbreak.
Lent is a season for reflection and repentance as we identify and acknowledge before God those behaviours in our lives that we need to turn away from. However, it is also a time to reflect on our wider faith journey and story. Where are we now and where might our Father God be leading us?
God’s blessings, Alessandra
