Dear Friends
Just a reminder that the scaffolding will be erected this week so that work on the tower can commence. If you can, please do avoid the church building while the scaffolding is being erected. Please note that on Wednesdays and through the week access to the building will be through the kitchen except for funerals. On Wednesday morning for the period of the repairs Call in For Coffee will now start at 11.15am. The BCP communion service will be at 10.30am as normal.
I will be away from Monday 5th October returning to work on Wed 14th October although I will be self-isolating I will be working from home. Many thanks to all those who are providing cover for services. Also many thanks to Jo Dudley who will be providing cover for pastoral emergencies and funerals.
Following our harvest service today we are looking for help with distributing the food to the foodbank and Graih. We are also looking for people who would be willing to distribute a small token of appreciation to those who are unable to get to church for services as part of our harvest giving. Also please do remember that there will be a retiring collection at the harvest service for the Archbishop’s Covid 19 appeal. Please do give generously.
I am also pleased to announce that His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant will be attending the Remembrance Service on Sunday 8th November.
With regard to the All Souls’ service on Sunday 1st November there will be a list at the back of church for you to include the names of loved ones you have lost to be read out at the service. Although I will be present Alex Brown has very kindly agreed to lead the service.
With all God’s blessings, Alessandra
Prayers for Daily Life – Trinity
O God, the creator and preserver of all,
we pray for people in every kind of need;
make your ways known on earth,
your saving health among all nations …
We pray for the Church;
guide and govern us by your good Spirit,
that all who profess and call themselves Christians
may be led into the way of truth,
and hold the faith in unity of spirit,
in the bond of peace and in righteousness of life …
We commend to your fatherly goodness
all those who are any ways afflicted or distressed,
in mind, body or estate;
comfort and relieve them in their need,
give them patience in their sufferings,
and bring good out of all their afflictions …
We remember those who have gone before us
in the peace of Christ,
and we give you praise for all your faithful ones,
with whom we rejoice in the communion of saints …
All this we ask for Jesus Christ’s sake.
All Amen
? Thank you to all who have kindly donated altar flowers over the last few weeks. This week’s altar flowers have been kindly donated by Mrs Jean Archer ?
